personality.
Amycus is definitely not one of those people with a warm and fuzzy kind of personality – infact, he’s the exact opposite. You could be lying on the ground, almost to the point of dying, and he would still not care. Well, at least, if you were a Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. He might consider helping you up if you were wearing Slytherin Robes. He smiles rarely and often comes across as harsh and unwelcoming.
Amycus has never really been much of a talker, even as a child. He speaks somewhat broken English, never learning the proper phrases or punctuation, but as Amycus is usually an offsider to someone, he rarely feels the need to open his mouth and offer his opinion. If he ever does say something, most people usually ignore it, as Amycus often comes across as a buffoon who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. So, instead, Amycus likes to talk to people through his fist, or through a hex of some sort.
He has a bit of a closed personality, not taking friendship into the equation. His only real friend is his younger sister, Alecto, if you're not counting Stan. But if Amycus were to have any friends, they would've done something amazing for him. Rabastan LeStrange, seemingly enough, has been the only person to stand by Amycus since they first met, other than his sister. Unless the other people in question were Death Eaters first, Amycus would generally have nothing to do with them, as Death Eaters are the general preferred type for companionship in his parents eyes. Although Amycus still hasn’t officially become a Death Eater yet, he somewhat looks up to the Dark Lord’s disciples, but at the same time also somewhat fears them and their powers. But, with his parents will for him and his sister to become part of the Dark Lord's great plans, he goes with whatever just to please them.
Amycus is a bit of an indecisive figure, often wanting people to make decisions for him rather than making them himself. After all the years of being bossed around by his younger sister, Alecto, he soon learnt to just shut up and obey, rather than taking a stand for himself. Whilst being indecisive, Amycus is also very indifferent. He does not care for the facts of life, instead, just wanting to look out for himself and for his own welfare, along with his family's.
He’s also quite a proud person, mainly of his blood status of ‘pureblood’, and the wealth he was born to, being in the Carrow family. He bears the name as a mark of his excellence, and also likes to remind other young witches and wizards that they are somewhat inferior to him. Amycus can have a bit of a smart-ass attitude, which usually gets him into trouble, especially in class.
amorentia.
The only two things that Amycus smells
when he comes into contact with Amorentia
is the smell of the sea and the smell of his best friend,
Rabastan LeStrange.
His family once owned a holiday property by the sea,
and the smell reminds him of his childhood.
He doesn't tell people about this as it seems
like a childish and girly thing to smell.
Nor can he tell anyone about the other thing he smells...

appearance.
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]If anything, Amycus Carrow is a typical Carrow. It only takes one glance to know his heritage, as he shares the same features as his father, and father before him: stocky, with wide shoulders and a broad chest, not to mention the trademark Carrow blob of a nose and sparkling blue eyes. He has a very pale complexion, due to the many days spent inside without sunlight in his childhood. There are few distinct freckles on his face, but you could count all of them on two hands. His lips, he takes after his mothers, with his upper lip being a bit fuller and rounder than his lower.
His hair, scraggly brown and unkempt, isn't exactly short. It couldn't be described as long, either, as it doesn't hang around in front of his eyes. Instead, it's a middle length, somewhere in between. His hair occasionally stands up on end, due to Amycus' nervous habit of running his fingers upwards through his fringe. There's a slight bit of stubble above his upper lip, as Amycus, only being young, only just started shaving.
For only being a sixteen year old boy, he stands quite tall at about 6’2”, weighing in at 13 stone. His body shape could be described as brick-like; not because of muscular weight, but because of the wide shoulders and broad chest. But, whilst he is not the most muscular of people, he makes up for it with speed and agility.
Amycus Carrow slouches a lot, almost stooping down with a hunch on his back, often of which his sister, Alecto, makes fun of him for. He has large hands and forearms, covered with a thin layer of mouse brown hair. Amycus is quite prone to acne and has pre-mature wrinkles on his face, due to a mix between constant frowning and concentration lines.
boggart.
As strange as it sounds, Amycus’ boggart is that of the Dark Lord,
as the Dark Lord has powers that Amycus is quite afraid of;
powers that could cause his family harm
if they disobey or fail upon the Dark Lord’s orders.

history.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]Amycus Carrow, born on the 23rd of March, 1960, was the first of two children born into the Carrow family, to Elizabeth and James Carrow; a long line of purebloods who had always managed to make a name for themselves amongst the Wizarding World. His younger sister, Alecto, was born three years later, but the pair of them acted like they were twins from the day that she was born. Amcyus' first memory was of his mother, telling him that he would soon one day have a sister - someone younger, a companion, to keep him happy, as it wasn't easy for a young boy of three to be left on his own (with careful supervision from a nanny, of course) six days a week.
His younger life was nothing to be particularly proud of, in normal circumstances. His parents, Elizabeth and James, were often out of the house on special affairs for either the Ministry of Magic, or the Dark Lord, leaving their two children at home with a nanny. Although Amycus never had quite the inventive streak his sister, Alecto, had, he was still able to make a name for himself as the side kick – or the local bully of the wizarding neighbourhood he lived in. The pair of them, Alecto and Amycus, were spoiled rotten by their parents on their rare trips home, with rare, expensive foreign items.
The Carrow family were some of the first Wizarding families to take sides within the first Wizarding World; the Carrows taking sides with the Dark Lord, pledging to serve him eternally. Although neither Amycus or Alecto were aware of this during their blissful years of ignorance throughout their childhood, they were signed up for a long lifetime of servitude as well.
He had everything that he’d ever wanted as a child; a broomstick, money, all the candy he could ever want - and all of this by the time he was six. The only things missing were the real abilities and skills, like learning to read and doing shoelaces up – but in Amycus’ eyes, why learn all this when you have people to do it for you? A nanny would be there every step of the way. She would be someone there to read you stories so you don’t have to do it yourself, or fix your lunch with the wave of a wand, just so you wouldn't have to do it. It was almost a perfect life for him and his sister. The next four years of his childhood proved quite difficult for him, causing him real speech impediments due to not being able to read properly. To this day, he still cannot tie his shoelace by hand, instead using magic to do it for him.
Amycus received his letter to Hogwarts, as expected, on the date of his eleventh birthday – and that was that. He was sorted into Slytherin house, as his father before him; the hat barely even needing to touch his head. His sister, Alecto, recieved her letter three years later, the two of them still thick as thieves. Keeping her at home, almost alone, for the past few years of his life, Amycus was more than excited to have his sister join him. As was expected, she was sorted into Slytherin house, just like her brother. And once again, they were inseparable.
For the first six years of his schooling attendance, Amycus participated in many duels as a side-kick, often taking his orders from those students who’s parents had already pledged allegiance to that of the Dark Lord. At the age of fifteen, Amycus almost had an epiphany moment; he knew exactly where his life was going. There was no need for school or academic achievement in his life anymore - his life was dedicated to that of the Dark Lord, by both his and his parents wishes. He passed his fifth year with three owls to his name: nothing to be particularly proud of.
strengths and weaknesses.
Amycus' main strength comes from his sister
and the dynamic duo they are when they're together.
He's not so bad at Defence Against the Dark Arts as a subject,
but even then, he doesn't pull great marks.
Another strength of Amycus' would be his actual strength;
having the typical Carrow figure, he uses it to his advantage.
And of course - he's pureblood.
That would definitely count as a strength in Amycus' books.
On occasion, Amycus has been known to draw strength
from his best friend, Stan.
Although Amycus takes an interest in
Defence Against the Dark Arts,
he is generally a failing student.
He has very little academic knowledge.
His main weakness would be his sister,
as when they are separated, Amycus does not cope too well.
He has a bit of a weakness for someone special's brown eyes
and also is afraid of spiders.
