I could really see these two being friend. Kat is a year younger, but what's that really? She is kinda of a rude person when you first meet her but she is a through and through Slytherin and actually nice when you get to know her. (although she has been known to back stab people.)

I think these two will definately get along. It really depends on how she takes his arrogance, however. He's like that with everyone, and especially loves making digs, even with his friends.

I am not sure what Rod would think of Ameleigh, she is muggleborn which means you might hate her, but Rod doesn't have to know her bloodline?

Um maybe they could have an attraction, I am not sure, you said he flirts and Ames is not your typical girl, she is a strong and quiet person who sticks up for herself no matter what. She would rather avoid confrontation but if it's there then she will not back down. Maybe Rod might like the quiet yet inner strength in her. I don't really know, what do you think?
