Description of your character's appearance:
Riesa is from a very upperclass family who reside in the West End of London. She wears the finest clothes and makeup that money can buy, Pounds or Galleons. Her eyes are the clearest blue, as blue as the ocean, often lined with thick black kohl liner and blackened lashes. Her hair is red, not bright red as some punks wear it, but more like a natural copper red, like the finest rose gold. It is fine and very straight, though she does like to run a curling iron through it now and then, much to Mummies chagrin.
Her hair is usually worn tied back, she has a sweet childish look about her, though she is in her late twenties she definitely appears to be in her late teens early twenties and sometimes her behaviour can mirror this. Having been brought up to have what she wanted but by a loving and overprotective family circle, Riesa can sometimes take things for granted a little. She often recognises that she may not be as streetwise as someone who had a harder, less sophisticated upbringing and this worries her. She sometimes wished that she was normal, that perhaps she knew what it was like to go hungry or go in need for a pair of shoes and because of this, Riesa is very compassionate and caring towards others.
The advantaged witch was blessed with her father’s height, the Muggle born stood at a grand 6 foot and Riesa and her Father tower other her Mother. Riesa standing at an impressive 5 foot and 10 inches tall, with long slender and very pale limbs, the usual colouring of a red headed person. Her back and shoulders are flecked with tiny freckles though her face and skin are an beautiful porcelain color. Her posture is very elegant and straight and erect, her poise expressing her family heritage clearly.

In depth personality and history:
Riesa is a very kind, caring and compassionate person, a happy go lucky child wioth a shiny innocent look about her. A little mischievous perhaps and would often get a serious scolding for playing dolls with the House elves. Dressing them in dollies clothes and giggling when they used to run, scarper in celebration of their freedom. Most of her childhood was a happy one, living in daydreams, make believe worlds and hidey holes. But there was a downside, just as there is in every individual life. Sometimes she finds it hard to be around people. She and her younger brother were often left being looked after by a Nanny who was from the Wizarding World. She would often leave the children to be getting on with their business whilst she sat and wrote stories about wizards and muggles. Half of the time, Riesa felt like her family were being observed as part of Nanny Agnes research. The crazy old crone would sometimes grab her brother’s wrist and take him into another room, leaving her alone to keep herself happy. This was when the young witch discovered her love for reading.
The Thorncrofts had a huge room full of books, from floor to ceiling, dusty old tomes to posh claret and gold leafed Encyclopaedias, from huge picture books, with beautiful and intricate watercolours, to modern stories books telling of great adventures that would keep Riesa amused for days. The Library was Riesa’s favourite and best place in the whole house, she would often sneak into the dusty dark room, breathing in the gorgeous musky dry scent of books, dust and all sorts melded into the pages, inks giving a slight bitter odour that was almost delectable to ones palate, like a delicious and mouth watering meal created with the best ingredients that money can buy from the finest French Chef in all the world! There was no nicer smell, well apart from certain pollens and scents from the prettiest flowers. She was often found in there, sitting on a comfortable window seat that looked out into the huge gardens. All the curtains were closed (to protect the books from the sunlight) except for the one’s where she sat. Her small frame curled half sitting, half lying against the substantial Window’s edge, the long robust curtain tucked around her. Whilst she sat she twirled a small lock of her beautiful coppery coloured hair wrapping them around her finger. A mass of straight strands which she held to tickle her nose as she read, almost replicating a child and their comfy blanket.
Riesa’s second favourite place was the garden. There were many seasonal flowers, ferns, trees, bushes and her Mother’s favourite, Roses as far as the eye can see. Her Father employed a gardener who would attend to the gardens, four days a week. The only kept muggle plants and flowers in the gardens, due to them being quite public, but Riesa didn’t mind. She would often trek through the Gardens, singing to herself, imagining that she was a Princess being kept from her Prince. Her brother having been kidnapped, by the evil hag. Riesa would dress in magnificent clothes in preparation for the mission to rescue her Prince. She hated how sexist some fairy tales were especially muggle ones. It was always the Princess that needed rescuing or it was always the women that were the evil so and so’s. Well not this time, this time she would rescue the Prince who would marry her for her courageous and dangerous deeds.
Once on one of her many rescues, she remembered walking in on Nanny Agnes and her brother. She saw her brother Hugh holding a wand whilst Nanny Agnes was barking orders at him. The small boy crying in fits of tears, which she later learnt to be tears of frustration. Her brother was a squib and she wasn’t it was as simple as that. Sometimes she hated herself for it and felt nothing but sorrow and compassion for her poor brother. He was so different to her and never saw things in the same light as she herself did. The younger Thorncroft began to relish his muggle side more and began to look down on Riesa with a hate and resentment fit for an enemy rather than a blood sister. It kind of made sense that Hugh was a squib though, considering that their Father was a muggle after all. But having spoken to Hugh after, she found that Nanny Agnes believed that she could teach him to be able to cast magic! The senile old bat was using him as one of her experiments for her book.
Riesa feeling horrified and sick promised her brother and the evil hag that she would keep their secret, but it was no use. Reisa kept the horrific secret to herself a full two days before blurting out all the horrific details to Mother and Father before crying hysterically and running out of the huge dining room. Hugh looking at her with pure hatred in his eyes, as Nanny Agnes was fired. It seemed that even though he was suffering these abusive lessons, he seemed to like them. Seemed to think that Nanny Agnes really loved him, he misplaced her abusive actions for caring ones and immediately bore an even bigger grudge towards Riesa for interfering and making his beloved Nanny leave.
After Nanny Agnes left, Mother did not employ another Nanny and home schooled both children. Her Father would come home from his work at the Bank of England and would take Hugh up to his office, to keep him busy and teach him muggle lessons such as Mathematics, Algebra, Muggle History, Science, Biology and such things, whilst their Mother would teach her magical spells and tell her about her old amazing school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She had been in Ravenclaw and she would talk about the magnificent castle, the common room with blue and bronze flags everywhere, and the feasts all with a dreamy look in her eyes which made Riesa so excited about attending school herself. Retold stories of midnight feasts, sweet tasting nights, walks to Hogsmeade, Butter beer (apparently there was none hotter or sweeter than that which is served in The Three Broomsticks), Professors looking down at you from the stage, their amazing hats and robes billowing from behind them, Quidditch and the camaraderie between Ravenclaw members. You almost felt like being a member of a family within each house.
The excited school girl was to find this all out for herself. September 1951 she became a student, travelled to the famous school in the scarlet red steam train, boated across the lake in tiny boats without oars. She sat in the Great Hall and quaked as her name was called, felt pride but surprised as the Sorting hat placed her into Hufflepuff.
Her time at Hogwarts was a happy one, she was a victim of some form of bullying and mainly from Slytherin students, but apart from that she loved school. Her friends list was enormous and Riesa was a happy student, she fell in love with Potions and Herbology and was passionate about Wizarding plants. Professor Sprout took her under her wing and taught her as much as she could be taught and they built a strong friendship/bond of mutual respect and passion about the subject. Riesa would put her heart and soul into each lesson and homework session and basically school life was a joy.
Not many students had a cruel word to say about her, mainly because she was a little shy, quiet, would laugh in the background at jokes, maybe say the odd one herself and blush as students would laugh and talk to her. She would feel warmth at every contact, have her first crush with a boy named Henry Bowling who was a Gryffindor and would write home at every opportunity. Holiday time was miserable mainly because Hugh had become unbearably cruel and hateful towards her, this meant that she would spend some holidays at school, with the exception of Christmas; her parents were adamant that she would be home for the festive season. It was like mental torture, watching her brother be horrible and cruel towards her, watching as it broke their Mother’s heart when he would call her a freak, a grotesque monster! Riesa would often leave the room after apologising to their Mother as if this was all her fault.
After Graduating, Riesa left home, she could not stand the treatment any longer and felt that just by being their helped contribute to her Mother’s misery. After receiving a huge inheritance she moved to a nice Penthouse suite not too far from her birth home. Her mother would visit a lot but her Father and Brother hardly ever. It was almost as if her brother’s hatred and anger had infected the whole family driving a huge wedge between them all. This saddened Riesa who very much loved her family. Family was everything to her and she longed to fall madly in love with that special someone and have a huge family.
Whilst living alone, she would continue her daydreams, make her Penthouse beautiful and decorate her rooftop garden to be beyond this world. The beautiful graduate would study up on healing magic and potions and grow and experiment with the matter that she had grown. Often walking out into the hustle and bustle of town to meet up with friends or her Mother. Or have old House elves around for tea, all thankful towards her for being set free. Otherwise she was a bit of a loner who dreamt of working at St Mungo’s Hospital but never quite having the confidence to follow up her dreams.
