At the cinema it was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, pt.2. I thought it was a great film. But left a few loose ends I felt. Also felt it left the way open for another.
On DVD it was Copying Beethoven. A great film about a young woman who becomes Beethoven's apprentice and ends up not only copying his works but apparently "correcting" them. A VERY good film. Ed Harris plays Beethoven. Although I still think nobodies performance of Beethoven compares to Gary Oldman in Immortal Beloved.
Most anticipated film has to be Anonymous, due out in November. It tells of the Oxfordian theory regarding the William Shakespeare/Edward de Vere/Elizabeth I controversy.
Made by the delicious Tobi!!!
"Oi! That's my GIRLFRIEND, you numpty!" - Ronald Weasley in the Room of Requirement after Draco threw a spell at Hermione during the Battle of Hogwarts
In cinemas, it was HP 7 pt 2. I am one of those awful HP purists who just hate everything that's not the books. But even as a movie in general, continuing on from the last one, it had some big inconsistencies. Such as the Deathly Hallows - they didn't explain that Harry had all three hallows...... thus cheating death. I would have thought that that was central to the plot, seeing as the movie is called HP and the Deathly Hallows. But ya know. And the Lupin thing. Mentioning that he had a son and everyone in the cinema suddenly went HERPWHATHEHADASON. Okay I'll stop else i'll be here all night.
But DVD wise was a movie marathon with some friends, horror style. Watched Wolf Creek, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Exorcist, The Uninvited and Princess Diaries 2. Yeah, we all thought the last one fit the horror description. XD
My hubster put on Jennifer's Body tonight as it was on TV and we hadn't seen it before. I wonder why all teens think that every teenager is suppose to have sex? (rhetorical question)
The last movie I watched was Ersebet Bathory. At first I was loving it, the action, the characters, the historical look of this era, even the fact that they brought a fantastic artist Caravaggio into the mix (He was not associated with the Bathory's) but then it became a little OTT. I agree to a certain extent that Elizabeth Bathory was framed, but to bring Witchcraft in it they way they did made it laughable and sadly stereotypical of the overall and derogatory way that people see witchcraft today. *Rant over* lol
I watched Sense & Sensibility, I love period dramas. The costumes and old practises draw me in and I just love them, especially men in britches. I love Alan Rickman in this movie, he is amazing, though he is full stop anyway. So yeah um....
^ I LOVE Jane Austen. For my birthday I wanted to have a pride and prejudice themed thing, but it got turned into Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because people wanted to dress up like zombies.
Anyhoo, I am currently watching Gilmore Girls. AW YEA.
